re: #149 WriterMom

My son had a grand mal seizure in the summer and it was the scariest thing I have ever, ever gone through with him. At the time, it felt like the Angel of Death was hovering around in the room. It took me about a week to feel like myself again.

I would urge everyone to brush up on CPR/first aid-it’s so important. You never know when you will be called upon by fate to use it-and a life can be saved because of you.

So-just as a public service note-if someone is seizing, lay them on their side, allowing their tongue to fall out so they don’t choke on their tongue-don’t try to put your hand down on their tongue…Never transport a seizing person on your own-always let paramedics transport to hospital.

Perhaps any paramedic/firemen or other first-aid trained lizards could add a few points.

My son had one on his 21st birthday. It is gut wrenching, to say the least.
