re: #213 klys

I’m Pacific timezone and a night person to boot, so… bed in another hour or two. Mostly because a plumber is showing up at 10am (ugh) for an estimate on repiping the house.

My baby sister goes to school on the upper peninsula of Michigan, so there’s the fun kink in the US time zones there.

In some ways old school travel was much better because you had time to adjust to timezones.

Traveling across the ocean by ship would have been great, for someone with the sufficient means to buy a stateroom. But I doubt I would have been one of them. Steerage would have been my lot.

As much as I like seeing family, I dread the long trans-Pacific flights. Thirteen hours cooped up in a tin can, and not being able to get a really good sleep time. The modern equivalent to steerage, but at least they had cots to sleep on.
