From RP forums, quoted from the “Meet-up” email:

“While the Republican Party has tried to marginalize Ron Paul for years, Debra has been a strong supporter of Dr. Paul. She is currently the State Coordinator for the Campaign for Liberty. Debra has helped form a group called Operation Come and Take It, to build not only support for the idea of liberty, but to educate supporters on the Fundamentals of Liberty needed in order to effectively share this message with others. Debra has established her own educational organization called, Ambassadors Institute, which also offers instruction in the Constitution and the Fundamentals of Liberty. Debra brings not only her political skills with her, but also business and management skills. Debra is a nurse by training and has run her own business for 7 years. She and her husband Noe Medina have a grown daughter Janise and a son Jacob, who is a sophomore at Blinn/Texas A&M. Debra is a native of Texas and a 20 resident of Wharton, TX. Debra is very proud of her heritage as a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She is also eligible for membership in the Daughters of the Texas Revolution. Now, she is willing to be part of the current Revolution, to return government to the people of Texas!

When we asked her if she would consider running as the “people’s candidate” for Governor, she was shocked and a bit overcome. She stammered, “I have never thought about anything like this.” We assured her that was part of her appeal. We are all tired of people who have spent their life time positioning themselves and cutting deals, so one day they would be “anointed” to office. We are asking her to serve the people. Understandably she said she would need to give it some serious thought and discuss it with her family. She immediately acknowledged that her plate is very full. Her daughter getting married in April, as well as her commitments for the Campaign for Liberty and to the Republican Party. However she did not give us a definite “no.” Indeed, she said she had spent her life trying to walk through the doors that were opened “where she could be of service to other.”

While Debra has been considering what taking on such a challenge would mean to her and to her family, now she also needs to know that this is not just the request of a few individuals. She needs to know there is broad based support for a “peoples candidate” and for her personally as that candidate. So friends, THIS IS IT. THIS IS WHERE WE CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN.”
