I have found that male cats, for some reason, are much more people friendly than female cats. But they will wander and seem to have more energy, want to “play” (i.e., bite) more than the female cats do.

I know that’s true for dogs, at least in my experience. Female dobes are much more protective and even more territorial than the males. Fixed or not.
