Katrina Photos Show the Streets Around Brian Williams' Hotel *Were* Flooded

As I posted before, here’s where New Orleans actually flooded. Parts of the French Quarter did flood. Many areas adjacent to the French Quarter flooded.

Parts of the French Quarter were spared because it sits at higher ground than most of the surrounding area. But flooding was reported.

To say that the French Quarter didn’t flood is just wrong. It didn’t flood as bad as say the Lower Ninth, or Slidell, or other areas of Louisiana, but it wasn’t free of flood damage either.

As to Williams’ claims, well, I still think he should be fired for his statements re: the helicopter incident. There’s evidence there was flooding in the French Quarter. It’s indisputable that there were bodies recovered floating in Katrina flood waters. Did Williams see bodies floating in the French Quarter?

I’m trying to track down a map showing where remains were recovered, but haven’t as yet. Most of the ones I’ve seen aren’t sufficiently specific - attributing recoveries to a region affected by Katrina and not a block by block.
