re: #201 Testy Toad T

It does. Sanders seemed to think that if he trotted Cornel West out to speak on his behalf, we blacks would line up behind him. Trump did the same thing with those two black female YouTubers. I don’t know, or care, who they hell they are. I don’t depend on other so-called reps to determine for whom I’ll vote. Dragging Cornel out backfired on Sanders. Why? Because, in general, among the many blacks I know, we don’t think much of Cornel West and tend to view him as someone who talks a good game but doesn’t put his money where his mouth is. He’s made millions, but how much of it has he taken and invested in job training programs, healthcare, education, etc. to help improve the lives of less fortunate Americans? Plus, I think he’s petty and carries long-term grudges. He’s still angry because he wasn’t a special guest at the president’s first inauguration and didn’t get a ringside seat on the dais. I didn’t see sh*t he’d done to help Obama win, and I read about his campaign every, single, day. I heard no mention of Cornel West stumping for the president, raising money for him, or showing up at campaign events. He needs to realize that just because he’s a legend in his own mind doesn’t mean he’s the same in the minds of others. Hell, if he and I were walking on the same side of a street, I’d cross to the other side to avoid all contact with his pompous ass. Straight up. I read that he and Tavis Smiley joined up with Walmart a few years back but very little came from the association other than more money going into their bank accounts. West is a very poor choice for a rep/campaign surrogate for a candidate who claims to “hate” Wall Street because West has been taking advantage of his Wall Street ties for a long time.
