For me, the saving graces about previous Bond films were the diabolical villains and the occasional touches of humor. The Craig films have lost those things and so become just grim fantasies. Jason Statham is doin’ it better now IMHO.

I found a fair bit of humor that was more to my liking than, say Moonraker but that’s to be expected with that many movies over 50 years. To me the Craig is the best Bond since Connery and, at times, better than him. Perhaps because I read all the books, I prefer a darker & grittier Bond. If I want a joker, there’s always watching the first Die Hard for umteenth time ;)
