That reminds me, I should bring up that the original plan was to have a House vote on Trumpcare by close of business yesterday. The need for total secrecy until the bill was ready for a vote has backfired spectacularly, leaving them scrambling to find votes and so burning time they can’t afford to burn. If they fail to get it through the Senate before the CBO releases its score, the gig is up. There’s no way it’ll be revenue neutral, which puts the kibosh on the plan to pass via reconciliation. There’s no way they’ll get close to 60 votes for cloture, which either means pressing the nuclear option (which has no guarantee of succeeding) or they drop the bill.
