I said that the use of torture to protect America, arguably invalidates the idea of America, and thus becomes philosophically self-defeating. It was a generic rumination and not aimed at anyone whatsoever.

You were the one that jumped up and argued it was perhaps necessary in the past, and even cited examples of where it was potentially justifiable. How am I supposed to interpret that?

I ask “my side” those questions all the time. Arguably that’s what I’m doing here, right now. If you read my posts above, I never once mentioned conservatives or the right. I’m making a philosophical argument against a particular anti-terrorism policy, regardless of what “side” it comes from.

Assuming I’m on the Dems “side” is pretty short-sighted. I was also against the bailout and not a fan of this health care monstrosity either.
