I disagree, having read numerous wingnuts excoriate Kerry for being associated with a group claiming that US troops perpetrated atrocities in Vietnam.

These same folks will tell you Walter Cronkite lost us the war, but somehow they can never define how we’d have “won”, or what “winning” would have been.

Actually, I did ask someone a few years about her opinion on Vietnam (it was relevant to our conversation.) She said we’d won because we held off communism just long enough for it to fail in the long run.

I’m afraid I was so stunned by the weirdness of that answer I was left with my mouth hanging open.
