Indeed. I have seen otherwise intelligent people argue that SLAVERY wasn’t racist, because there were black slaveowners.

Or that Africans sold the Europeans the slaves. American slavery was based on white supremacy and the proponents of it didn’t hide that fact in slavery’s lifetime.
