Gack! She gets the science all wrong, not surprisingly. She’s trying to force a “just-so” narrative from Genesis into a historical milieu — a version of Creation not being the beginning of all humanity, but only a specific subset of humanity.

Just scanning her essay makes my head hurt.

That also fits nicely with the conservative Christian idea that dark-skinned people bear the “Mark of Cain” (to justify racism).

BioLogos was founded by Francis Collins (the fellow who’s work led to the Human Genome Project). It seeks to “harmonise creationism with science.”

Wingnut Ken Ham claims people like Collins are leaving Christianity.
