Stores here in DFW carry them. I developed a taste for grits while I was stationed in Alabama during my Army service. They were a staple of the diet there, at least for older folks. Younger locals seemed to subsist mostly on RC Cola and Moon Pies. Salted peanuts were occasionally added to the RC but purists preferred Pepsi for that particular delicacy.

Hell, stores in Seattle carried them even when I was growing up 60 years ago. My Mom never cooked them, even though she was from East Texas. Never mentioned them really. Maybe my Dad vetoed them before I was born….
