they are set for IDE, ill switch them to AHCI

I set them to AHCI and also ran my old HD with vista along side the new one on restart. I’m in Vista now and it shows my new HD as E:
Good; that means that drive is formatted and working.
Download these SATA AHCI drivers for your motherboard:
Open that self-extracting file and extract it to the root of a empty USB thumb drive.
Let me know when you’ve done that and are back in Windows setup.
