I think you have to be fairly financially secure to do that, in addition to being securely employed. More power to you if you’re in that position.

Too many people no longer have that option in a still recovering economy and a changing financial landscape in which so much income has pushed upward, not into the average person’s paycheck.

If inflation doesn’t take hold any time soon, I can easily make do on my SS, although I do forego some pleasures, and, sometimes, necessities, in life. But it’s made up in other areas. : )

Thing is, we only use the credit card for our regular purchases: gas, groceries, etc.
Only time we use it otherwise is in a case of emergency, like when Mr B_S locked his keys in his truck 100 miles away from home. During a sleet storm. In the dark. At night.

Man, I need to learn how to be a locksmith…
