Apparently I have a talent for fried bread. I made grilled cheese for dinner, and Mrs. Fish once again commented on how she can never cook it that well.
Do you use mayonaisse on the exterior? We use a little bit of butter with it. Crispy, rich, and evenly browned. Butter alone gets sucked up in the bread randomly and the rest chars.
