South Korea is a free democratic capitalist state with a population rapidly turning to Christianity. No way they would accept giving all that up to be a client state to China. If Korea reunifies, South Korea will dominate the new Korea, which means the US will be an ally. China will loose an important buffer state on a vulnerable frontier.
