Why is it that everything’s a damned conspiracy to so many on the right? Is it some kind of mental illness? Conspiracies of being persecuted, twitter gulag, FEMA camps, creeping sharia…..I’ve never seen such lunacy being peddled in my 43 years on the planet.

It’s like a rather significant chunk of the American population has had some sort of psychotic episode, and they’re spewing their delusional rantings to anyone who’ll listen.

I think that there’s an interesting cognative dissonance between the fetish for individual responsibility and initiative and the idea that there is always someone behind the scenes pulling the strings.
