Would you also ban cane and beet sugars? Because they break down in the body almost identically. So banning HFCS would just cause producers to switch to more expensive alternatives. Maybe that would lead them to use less, but I doubt it. Humans evolved to crave the sweet stuff.

I know people keep saying that but the cut over to HFCS from beet/cane coincides with the rise in obesity. If only one thing - the source of the “sugar” - has changed, why then has the result changed? I find this extremely difficult to believe given what we know about big biz and tobacco vs health and oil/co2/global warming.
