I think Windy got it exactly right, really.

I mean, I don’t like commies. I was raised by a man who doesn’t like commies in a serious kind of way. But Dark doesn’t like commies with a single-minded focus, and a willingness to put up with bad behavior from enemies of commies simply because they aren’t commies that occasionally blows my mind.

There’s no point arguing about it. No one is going to change their mind.

Sometimes you just have to acknowledge it all and move on.
