re: #209 dmandman

There wasn’t anyone having moral qualms about “irregular” soldiers being captured on the battle field or elsewhere (as spies) until the American phase of the war in Vietnam. For instance, if the Korean troops caught anyone in their zone playing head games like that they simply hung them (no trial) and left their corpses up in the air until they rotted off. During WWII, it was well know that if you engaged out of uniform or among civilians, it they caught you alive it was all over. After they questioned you quite harshly, if they felt you were of no further value you got a bullet and thrown away. Britian had German POW’s they abused for years after the end of the war and what Stalin’s people did to anyone they thought inconvenient (even their allies) people have written books on the brutality. Paraphrasing Yakov Smirnov “only in the USA, what a great country”. I heard about what an Uncle of mine did to a German mayor during WWII to insure no Werewolf activity and it wasn’t nice….but nobody officially said anything as it worked.

No one, but no one fucked with the ROK’s in Vietnam and lived to tell about it.
