1. Most recession last about 12 months. This one is now 20 months long. Eventually the down turn stops. Do not confuse stopping the down turn with growth. You want to see GDP growing over 2% a year and employment growing by about 150,000 jobs a month on average, 200,000 would be better.

2 Krugman had been forecasting a recession every year since 2000. Consider the source when you hear from him.

Is Krugman pushing for a 2nd stimulus package? He was pretty outspoken that the 1st one was way too small and unambitious, IIRC.
