It’s true that what McChrystal said was pretty egregious and unacceptable, but… too many articles I read on the issue questioned whether it would be a smart move to just have him gone. If anyone can take over the mission in Afghanistan its Petraeus, but, I really hope this hasn’t shot the mission there in the foot.

Some sort of public apology maybe.

I’m sure Yon’s been talked about a lot this thread (haven’t looked it over), but Yon thinks McChrystal’s handling of the war is garbage, and wants someone new to come in. (He mentioned Mattis would probably be good)
