It’s not any weirder than anything The One’s idol, Carter, said about the MidEast when he was POTUS, or even down to the present day. And it makes perfect sense, if you assume (as both The Messiah and Rabbit Bait apparently do) that every problem in that region, and really everywhere, is All Our Fault.

Of course, if anyone were ever to confront either one and demand an explanation of “Just exactly how is a conflict that predates the existence of the United States, the British empire, and really everything except the Roman Empire ‘our fault’?”, they would get a lot of hemming and hawing, and (possibly) finally an admission that the pair of them believe that the real problem… is the fact that we exist. Or indeed that Western Civilization as a whole exists in the first place.

You’re dealing with people who have made the classic “expert’s mistake” of avoiding all the small errors while sweeping irresistibly onward to the grand fallacy. And they will never, under any circumstances, admit that their reasoning is flawed, and their conclusion incorrect.

Not that that would be anything new for either one.

/Yes, I got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, and my stupidity tolerance is at an unusually low ebb, even for me.
