But the consistent threat from neo-fascist racist far-right wing forces necessitates a strong hand in order to protect America from extremism. The progressive movement must not be impeded by reactionary forces attempting to return the country to the dark days of the Bush-Cheney imperialist Christo-fascist clique. The president, the true tribune of the people and embodiment of the authentic voice of the nation and of the cause of social progress, is the appropriate individual to assess the level of threat and take necessary action to ensure the forward movement of democracy.
