Intent only matters once you have cleared the initial hurdle of demonstrating a false and defamatory statement. Like I said, that is the part I think is hard here.

I’d say an edited video— unconsentedly edited— is false on the face of it. Especially coming from a person with a history of altering and editing videos and abetting a criminal.
