This reminds me of the reporter who asked what Ty Cobb would hit if he were playing today, and the old timer said “Probably about .275”.

Startled, the reporter asked “Why? Are the pitchers stronger today? The fielders better?”

The old timer said, “No, if Cobb were playing today he’d be 122 years old…”

Story is actually better than that and true.

Reporter asking Ty Cobb himself, same line of thought, ended with something like:

“No, because I’m 80 f*cking years old.”
