I knew Cashill was the author of that ridiculous rumour, but the really interesting thing is that Cashill originally published it on WingNut Daily, and later on his own site, and American Thinker is only another place that picked it up. I remembered AT because I just saw last week that they were still publishing dreck by Cashill.

That fact that this person went straight to the source *I* mentioned —when it wasn’t even the first or main place this article appeared—suggests to me that they genuinely knew nothing at all about this, apart from what they’d heard fringe blogs mutter.

I don’t think this person knew Cashill was the source, nor do I think this person ever even read Cashill.

It’s clear he or she never did any research on it.
