People who think the Midwest and Plains “must be nice” because there’s no hurricanes, few* earthquakes, and the snowy cold winters as their only drawback, clearly haven’t been paying attention to the number of towns that simply get wiped off the map every year.

* = should be “none”, but thanks to fracking and other global fuckups, the ground does move in some places.

Don’t forget the New Madrid fault. When it next goes, a large part of the Midwest may vanish.
