When did the cops in England start carrying guns???!! I don’t understand why they would need them what with their strict gun control laws and all.

The nice christian father of three (or four?) was apparently involved in the black market guns/drug trade.

The met called in an armed response unit (read: cops with sub machine guns) to arrest him on a warrant. Unlike in the US where they just kick down your door at three A.M., shoot your dog and then trash your house because you might be dangerous, the Met waited until he was alone and in a cab before they arrested him. Which still went badly, but it’s the right Idea.
