Jackson was weird in many ways. Talked openly and happily of heinous stuff like smelling dead Native Americans burning and grease from their bodies sizzling as it dripped from the fire…but then adopts a Native American child found wandering after a battle (whom he had orphaned) and sending the child to his home as a playmate for his own kid.

Yeah I can’t figure Jackson out by and large. I have two biographies of him in my personal library- The H.W Brands one and Jon Meacham.
