The problem I have with Uber and such is that their business model depends on undercutting the already existing services by avoiding the costs those services have. There’s a reason why taxi and limousine services are pretty heavily regulated, and why there are requirements for licensing, insurance, etc. If you don’t have to meet those requirements, it’s a lot cheaper, but with a big potential downside.
