I wish I had taken shop in high school. My dad insisted that I take typing, however, way back in 1982-1983 and I ended up learning how, in my second year of it, doing word processing on an Apple IIe computer. That has been incredibly helpful in my current occupation as a medical transcriptionist.

Shop was a lot of fun but I can’t honestly tell you that the skills I learned are ones I retained. It was a lot of fun though. Don’t get me wrong.
