Damn straight I would.
It’s also a violation of the lease here to have a dog in the first place.
I wouldn’t ever rat someone out for that, but I’ll call animal services if they don’t come home in the nest 24 hours.

I don’t know these folks yet but they’ve been decent neighbours so far. I’m not even sure it’s their dog and not a houseguest’s. That might explain why the dog is crying too— being alone in a new place while they’re all out to dinner or something.
I’ll be monitoring the situation and will report back.
