There’s a difference between deliberate misuse or misappropriation of a word (theory) and the gradual adoption of a code word (gay) by a wider population. That was what I was getting at.
The religious anti-evolution types willfully choose to ignore the scientific definition of theory, and the entire scientific process. Since their flock don’t know any better, the anti-evos confuse the discussion by equating scientific theory to a kind of religious belief. Because to them, the Bible *is* factual, more factual than fossils in the ground and mutating bacteria. They do not recognize the distinction between objective facts and belief that a book is the divine word of God. Trying to discuss science with them is pointless without first getting them to admit that the Bible is not factual. Good luck with that.
