I’d like to share this with you guys. This is an obituary of my third great grandmother. She died 109 years ago. No one is presumably left who would have known her. My own Nana didn’t know her. Everytime I hear “SPEAK ENGLISH”, I think of her. I also think about the left she must have lived. Mayo if you don’t know Ireland is in the far West and when Bridget was born in the 1810’s, it was very isolated and outside the landlords very little English was spoken by the people there. She lived into the age of airplanes. I’d do anything to have an interview with her but I can’t for obvious reasons.

About 10 years after she died, part of my family lived about 15 blocks from there. By then Manchester had turned into perhaps the toughest part of Pittsburgh.
