They have brought out its worst aspects. Eveery religion has its good and bad sides, and under Wahabism, Islam has become even more fundamentalist.

I’m fairly confident that the keepers of Mecca have a pretty good grasp of sunni Islam. Nothing personal but one of my minor pet peeves is listening to american/euro converts try to explain that somehow the saudi’s are “doing it wrong”. That’s like telling the vatican they don’t really understand Catholicism.
