Talking about “purges” is not comfortable for me. And calling out Ron Paul when nobody at the event knows who the hell he is seems counter-productive.
Besides, a Paulian doesn’t deeply offend me. A “Nazi” does. I’ll deal with each in entirely different ways.
I’m not looking for ideological purity at these things, just an interest in getting shit right.

I’m not looking for purity either, but we’ve got a lot of crazies in our party right now and we need to remove some of them publicly. Otherwise, they’ll taint any large-scale event we hold and that will make it hard to mount any sort of recovery in 2010. I don’t like purges, but in this case one is necessary.
