Fuck that noise. The best near-term possibility I can see is that Trump damages the GOP without getting us all the way into a post-apocalypse scenario and the GOP loses at least the house in 2018. That would at least get a band-aid onto the sucking chest wound of the Trump presidency*.

This requires a competent Democratic party effort in all states and enough of a wave election to overcome the GOP gerrymandering, so it’s definitely a stretch goal. But even this would do nothing about the long term fact that about half the electorate is poisoning themselves with this GOP shit and getting more rabid every year.
