I’ll never understand this “rebuilt military” nonsense. If anything it should make people question why we spend more than most nation’s annual GDP’s on it and it needed to be “rebuilt.”

There are traditionally two “rebuild the military” arguments.

The first is that the previous administration didn’t pay enough attention and let our bases/service members/equipment fall into disuse/disrepair and now we need to modernize.

The second is that we’ve been too active with our military and need to replenish.

In Trump’s case he’s just a fucking asshole with no clue how things work so he just says random words he’s heard other politicians use in the past.
