It feels like what I’m about to say is (or should be) axiomatic, but: If you want to know what the will of the people actually is, you should make it as easy as possible for people to vote, so that as many people vote as possible. It’s in this light that I view the GQP voter suppression efforts; they claim to represent the will of the people, but anyone who’s actually interested in that would act in the exact opposite manner to what they’re currently doing. It’s obvious that their only goal is to cling to the scraps of power that they have left, in a vain attempt to convince the country that they are serious people with serious ideas and should be taken seriously.
