Again, this is all spin — he’s saying he was never a believer in Islam, and it’s probably true. As far as it goes. And saying he has “Muslim roots” is also spin — it doesn’t mean he was a Muslim in reality — it means he “experienced Islam.”

This guy is the quintessential politician. Mercurial and impossible to pin down. The only outright statement of religious affiliation he’s made is that he’s a Christian — and that one he had to make in order to be elected in the United States.

I think Charles makes an important point here, do not underestimate how long Obama has been planning to run for President. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this other than when you look at his narrative, just remember this. Obama’s conversion to Christianity was extremely pragmatic.
