Really? So when this decision was rendered, what was the case? Did someone come up and say, “You know, there really is a wall of separation that exists between church and state.” Tell me what the case was about when this great statement was made.
Eejit. The case in question had to do with whether the state was required to provide buses to private religious schools, IIRC. Black referenced Jefferson’s letter to the Danby, CT Baptists, to make use of the expression, ‘a wall of separation between church and state’. The case did not establish the concept, it referenced it. Go read something and come back.
