They have a cross logo, they’re mostly white and “clean cut” Aryan types, they don’t allow dissent and believe the most egregiously stupid things, and they show off their successful “high profile” members to represent what being a believer can do to you too. Also, they like to try to infiltrate the educational system with their nonsense and they support many extreme right-wing causes.

So, while they’re nothing in essence like real Christianity, outward appearances would say otherwise to anyone who is an ignorant and stupid fool - which goes a long way to explain why many fundamentalist morons are sympathetic towards them.

They also market to the wealthy. If you have a lot of dough, you go through the Scientology program quickly.
