So, assuming this guy did think he was going to spark a second Civil War or a race war or something, why did he think this would do it? Song, story, and actual history are full of cases where someone thought they were going to trigger something through their bold actions…and nothing happened.

Perhaps he thought this would inspire other whites to “rise up.”
