It’s hard to increase demand when more and more people are losing their jobs, and folks are cutting back their spending. Regardless of the PR from the Pollyannas in the government, most people know we won’t be back to the prosperity we had anytime soon (in my lifetime), and the rampant spending that caused the boom is history.
