So I’ve been aching to watch this “Inside North Korea” special they had on National Geographic but missed due to college. It’s the one that’s hosted by Lisa Ling, the sister of one of the journalists arrested and sentenced up there a few weeks back (and if you watch it, you get why.)

I actually found it on a Chinese(!) video sharing site and as I’m waiting for each part to load, there’s actually all these ads for consumer products (drinks, cellphones, iPods, etc) on the side. It really dawns on you how isolated the Norks really are when even their neighboring “comrades” have embraced the “evils” of bourgeois living.

China is a hell of a lot more capitalist friendly than the USA is right now. How sad is that.
