re: #232 Targetpractice

There was a bit of utopia-think back when, let’s say the 1950’s, when the wealth of the average American family looked like it could increase forever - new cars, new houses in new suburbs, new fashions, new fancy toys (TV’s, electrical kitchen gadgets, etc.)

But that was an illusion, that we now know arose due to the radical increase in per capita energy/resource use.

Those days are over, and the average American now is limited in resources, and we even have less per capita expected in the future.

This basic concept - arising out of ecology - is a abomination to American politics, which is based on MORE AND MORE FOREVER EVERMORE.

That is why President Obama was so burned in pop media when he dared to mention that Las Vegas couldn’t expand forever - he quickly dropped that theme. It’s also why his Energy Secretary, though knowing the truth, keeps spouting cheap energy delusions. And so on.

We lack leadership. All we have are panderers.
