I want a prize for the most pathetic person in the universe.

I just went to Google and saw a “G,” followed by an “X” and then an “O,” followed by the rest of the letters. All in red. I thought, What meaningless milestone are they celebrating now, the anniversary of tic-tac-toe?

I clicked on it and discovered that today is Valentine’s Day. Let’s just say I didn’t have anything in my Inbox, mailbox, or otherwise to remind me. (It’s true we did Valentine’s Day yesterday at school where I teach, but to me that was a kiddie activity that had nothing to do with adult relationships.)

I think I deserve some sort of prize.
