if it belongs to everybody, then it belongs to nobody and no one can ever be held responsible

the gun belongs to the legal purchaser. he’s responsible for control, use, misuse, transfer, lending, storage, transport whatever.

and if that gun was illegally or improperly sol or transferred, then that person also bears some degree of liability.
